Congratulations to "Drawn" who scooped one of the 2007 Bloggie Awards - announced on Monday this week. Drawn! came first in the Canada category which was a rather nice 2nd brithday present for this multi-authored blog. You can read about their reaction and their plans for the development of their blog here. They were also shortlisted in the most topical weblog which was won by Post Secret.
The Drawn! site is a multi-author blog devoted to illustration, art, cartooning and drawing. Its purpose is to inspire creativity by sharing links and resources.

The links and posts on Drawn! are written by a small group of professional illustrators, designers, and cartoonists. Learn more…

(About 'Drawn!')
You can also find a link to Drawn! in the right hand column of this blog under "Illustrated Blog Communities and Webrings" as it's a multi-author blog.

You can read all about who won the rest of the awards here. As I have previously suggested you might want to write to Nikolai [ nikolai@nolan.net ] and complain about the absence of a category for the visual arts!

Note about the Image: One of my 'windows on the world' is the Travels with a Sketchbook section of my website Pastels and Pencils. The sketch at the top of this post is of my room in Ananda Cottages in Ubud - the village of artists and cultural centre of Bali. It was done at dusk - very nearly 10 years ago. Ananda Cottages sits in the middle of rice fields - note the windows with no glass - only blinds........and the banana trees and palms right outside the window.

You can see more sketches from my two trips to Bali and Ubud on the Bali page of the website.
