I tend to go to the National for the permanent collection rather than the temporary exhibitions. It's possible to spend hours looking at the truly stunning paintings in the main galleries. It takes me about half an hour to give friends and visitors to London the top speed whistle stop tour through the collection highlights!

- Open every day BP Walk through British Art The brand NEW BP Walk through British Art offers a circuit of Tate Britain’s unparalleled collection from its beginnings to its end.
