Apparently Victoria likes it too!

Jana - it just goes to show doesn't it? I'm a great believer in being precise rather than being 'clever' having watched my stats do some interesting things over the last three years. Also because I know how I write search queries and I tend to cut it down to the words I know should generate what I want to see.

I know I've gained subscribers and regular readers because people arrived for one reason and stayed because they liked what they read when they got here. That's where the emphasis on content comes in.Making A Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13509483023337008890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-19132116899447890592009-05-21T06:31:33.116+00:002009-05-21T06:31:33.116+00:00This discussion is so helpful! The funny thing is that three of my most popular posts with 5,000 to 7,000 views each, have been about topics unrelated to art (except that they were the subject I was drawing: a blue glass water bottle, a devils tongue flower, a device I found useful when plein air painting in an area without restrooms).

People also get there by searching for info about places I've sketched or painted. I just sold a plein air painting to an architect who was searching for information about Mt. Tamalpais, saw my painting of it and bought it.

Once the niece of a woman who commissioned a watercolor painting of her home as a gift for her husband, searched for the Oakland Federal Building, found my sketch of it, and as she browsed around in my blog, saw my painting in progress, recognized her aunt's house and called her to tell her. How unlikely is that!

Your portrait in progress is wonderful. I was struck by the beautiful patterns of light and shade and how well they work as an abstract design. What a pretty girl!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-24112870537237965802009-05-20T22:15:55.881+00:002009-05-20T22:15:55.881+00:00Victoria is looking superb, Katherine!Victoria is looking superb, Katherine!Tracy Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618327920955524004noreply@blogger.com
