I loved how the artist added royal stag antlers, reminding of fluidity of fame, glory, the inevitable passing of the crown. Beautiful earthy autumn tones, pointing towards autumn of life.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03753082309790545278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-79851364410332748902013-12-23T12:12:23.512+00:002013-12-23T12:12:23.512+00:00It's been so hard to choose this year! It is in oils, size 55x52cm and can be viewed here http://www.postcardfromholland.com/still_life_lemons_black_bowl.html
I like it because it is extremely well painted. It's very classical but has a freshness about it. What caught my eye was the ivy. I've been painting ivy myself this year and so have been looking closely at it. I think Jos has done a wonderful job in capturing the essence of the plant and putting movement into what would be otherwise a very static painting. shevaunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08210683459670654254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-42957000694985224882013-12-23T12:11:58.738+00:002013-12-23T12:11:58.738+00:00It's been so hard to choose this year!
