Your sketches are all charming... what a beautiful place.Carole Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03874480972964140819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-31432146475011831612009-11-27T17:50:51.720+00:002009-11-27T17:50:51.720+00:00I'd love to see you do one in pastels, Katheri...I'd love to see you do one in pastels, Katherine - I think you've nailed the image in the first drawing but there is more of a hint of richness of colour in the last on the pastel support.

Fascinating to watch your progress.Robyn Sinclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01663604160297996421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-29176817377055699492009-11-27T15:43:47.609+00:002009-11-27T15:43:47.609+00:00I really like all of these. It will be interesting to see where you go next with this.Joanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10860888779743721034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-22579924639256645542009-11-27T09:47:08.084+00:002009-11-27T09:47:08.084+00:00I agree with Julie, the first sketch is very speci...I agree with Julie, the first sketch is very special and my favorite too. The reduction of details is a strenght in it..it seems the unspoken can be very eloquent.Papierfliegerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08006399662058810780noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-39255963897792255932009-11-26T18:47:17.780+00:002009-11-26T18:47:17.780+00:00I love the top one The others are lovely but the t...I love the top one The others are lovely but the top one appeals to me so much more. And I would never have realised how stripping out so much of the detail could make it work so well, unless you'd shown us.Julie Oakleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01561525327058025185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-30669610773846034392009-11-26T15:58:24.628+00:002009-11-26T15:58:24.628+00:00I had the same realization near the top of Mont St...I had the same realization near the top of Mont St Michel -- it's the silhouette that's the most appealing feature -- and being in the middle of a great view is not the best way to capture it! But then I noticed something -- if you happen to be lucky enough to be there late in the afternoon on a sunny fall day, the shadow of the Mont to the east is a perfect silhouette projected spectacularly on the tide 'advancing with the speed of a galloping horse.' Great photograph, but impossible (for me, anyway) to draw.Charlene Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13845504349975059383noreply@blogger.com
