(thank you Jeanette) Goodness, if I had only shown before and after pics on that post! :-) While I did not do a major renovation job, my studio did look quite frightful done up in wall to wall dark brown and without any overhead lighting. it is amazing what several gallons of paint and track lighting will do! Thank you Katherine for your consideration of my studio and thank you for sharing links to such interesting art blogs. I love my new space and had a ton of fun building it.

When I think back to how much work it was during the construction I wonder how I got through it all - but some how at the time it seemed like no big deal. I think the photo journal helped to keep it all in perspective.Lisa Callhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08757517309377110626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-90314998623348668982009-12-30T19:36:16.598+00:002009-12-30T19:36:16.598+00:00A hearty congratulations to Karin, whose painting ...A hearty congratulations to Karin, whose painting blew me away.

I am tickled that my nominee won two awards this year: Loriann Signori. Last year I nominated Margaret Dyer who got best picture, and so I feel like the cat who ate the mouse--I know how to pick a winner.

I am also surprised to win an award for my painting, Lazy River, which I recall making in my studio back in mid-summer with very little sense of the future of the work. Very rewarding! Thanks to the people who voted in these awards, who are many of them artists themselves. Better a peer award than from an "arts professional" or committee.

I am glad that I got to view Sarah's art on her blog some more, and am impressed with the loose, fun and effective image that she painted- Regatta. Bravo! Also, to Michael Hampton and others who were nominated - my first thought when I saw the spread was "I'll never win this award."

And, Katherine deserves all of my thanks for the big effort these awards posts involved. It was a lot of work, and she is most generous.
