It's gloomy, partly down to the dark floor surface and top of the walls and ceiling and partly down to the lighting which I believe uses a different type of bulb and seems harsh compared to the other galleries.Foster Macleanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09143883166323118544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-38297563780021843502013-12-13T15:20:19.245+00:002013-12-13T15:20:19.245+00:00Insightful review. I suspect that this sort of break-down & analysis of a big exhibit is uncommon among artists. Swinging a paintbrush and crunching numbers are such different skill sets, but hats off to you for the interest (& ability) to do both.belindadelpesco.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16062375277740529374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20645140.post-51572178121069234882013-12-13T13:50:21.371+00:002013-12-13T13:50:21.371+00:00Thanks for a brilliant report and insightful evalu...Thanks for a brilliant report and insightful evaluation Katherine. I am fairly new to your blog and work, my introduction coming via Sophie Ploeg.

As a painter for many years, I always enjoy open exhibition for the variety, colour and challenge of the works - as you say, this seems to be missing here. I have also noted a reduction in "social" events attached to exhibitions of late. Building a tribe or community be it online or in real life is crucial and yes creating the climate to buy should never be underestimated! thanks JenJENGAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18234936445104816604noreply@blogger.com
